Freddie, from Penrith, told us that his favourite players are Gabe Breeze and Sam Lavelle, and that the best part of his day was walking out with the captain and getting autographs from everyone.

Dad Jon said: “Although the result wasn't what we hoped for, we still had a fantastic day.

“Freddie getting to lead his team onto the pitch is a memory that will stay with him and myself forever.

 

“I'm grateful to everyone from both clubs who made this moment possible.

“Freddie has been watching himself on the highlights and telling his friends all about it! We were looked after by both club SLOs and the Grimsby stewards were fantastic with Freddie.

“Thank you for giving him the opportunity to lead the team out, meet all the players and also spend time with the new manager.”
